This post will be to carry out cleaning and maintenance duties on equipped children’s play areas within North Tyneside. Duties including litter removal, emptying of bins and graffiti removal. Tasks may include the use of power tools as directed i.e. strimmer, leaf blowers, drills, sanders. General driving duties including routine vehicle maintenance/inspection and vehicle cleaning and assisting with play equipment maintenance tasks.

Hours are 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday & 7:30 to 12:30 on Fridays. Enhanced disclosure & barring certificate is preferred.

The candidates must  have:

• DBS
• Full understanding of risk assessments and health and safety requirements associated with litter removal and maintenance operations
• Excellent customer focus
• Positive approach to team working and working co-operatively with colleagues.
• Full driving licence
• Familiarity with use of hand-held machinery:
• Strimmer’s/blowers/drills/sanders etc
• Experience of litter removal, bin emptying, graffiti removal etc within local authorities.
• Positive approach to team working and working co-operatively.
