HR Coordinator

ROLE PURPOSE:                                    

Under the guidance of the HR Services Manager to undertake the support and delivery of duties within the function which contribute to the provision of an excellent service, whilst ensuring the effective use of resources. To support department managers in the delivery of exceptional services to our community and key stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To promote the Service Vision, ‘Creating the Safest Community’.
  • To work effectively and efficiently to support line management in the delivery of the department’s aims and objectives.
    • To maintain appropriate and robust information systems within the department.
    • To maintain positive and effective liaison links with organisations and partners as appropriate.
    • To support the preparation and production of a variety of quality information for inclusion in management and departmental reports.
    • To ensure compliance with the Data Protection regulations to ensure data security is maintained.
  • To ensure relevant knowledge is up to date.
  • To identify and recommend areas of potential improvement.
  • To represent the function at internal and external meetings and events and take minutes when required.
  • To support the activities of the function and diary management for line management where required.
  • To support colleagues with their work as required.
  • To attend internal and external training courses as necessary.
    • To undertake any other duties as appropriate to the role.

 

The candidates must have:

  • Qualification in a HR related subject or substantial work experience relevant to the role.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience of working in a HR/Recruitment environment.
  • Experience of undertaking administrative work.
  • Experience of using relevant HR management information systems.

Ability to:

  • Analyse data and information.
  • Prepare and produce comprehensive reports.
  • Work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Work confidentially
  • Demonstrate excellent organisation skills.
  • Demonstrate effective time management. skills to work to conflicting priorities, meet deadlines and targets.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to enable liaison at all levels.
  • Undertake research activities.
  • Demonstrate excellent IT Skills.

Knowledge of a range of HR issues including:

  • Employment law and other relevant legislation.
  • General HR Principles, including attendance management, and recruitment and selection.
  • E&D legislation/requirements, particularly in relation to the Public Sector Equality Duty.
  • Experience of development and delivering appropriate initiatives and participating in forums/ network groups.

Demonstrate commitment to safe working principles and practices associated with Health and Safety.

Must have a full current driving license to meet the travel requirements of the role.

Must be able to work to a flexible working scheme, which may include some weekends/evenings.

9-5 Monday to Friday – Short term demand. Occasional Hybrid working, but not a contractual arrangement.
