Are you passionate about shaping the future of infrastructure and driving transformative change? The Infrastructure Service at Portsmouth City Council is seeking a Project Manager to lead impactful civil engineering projects and deliver exceptional results.
About the Role:
As a Project Manager, you’ll oversee diverse projects, including:
- Bus Service Improvement Plan: Enhancing public transport infrastructure.
- City Centre Road Project: Redesigning road networks alongside city regeneration.
- Local Town Centre Revitalizations: Improving shopping areas for community benefit.
This is a temporary role for up to 18 months, blending strategic leadership and hands-on project delivery.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage capital works aligned with Portsmouth’s regeneration objectives.
- Develop budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial accountability.
- Lead and mentor junior team members.
- Engage stakeholders and deliver clear communication.
- Drive procurement, contract management, and risk mitigation strategies. Qualifications and Experience:
- HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or similar.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner certification or APM membership preferred.
- Proven track record in managing high-impact projects.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical skills.
